Fallopian tubes blockage.

Many conditions can lead to tubal obstructions and infertility. This anomaly is related to genital infections, endometriosis or a sequela of a surgical procedure (adhesion for example). Genital infections: ★ Genital infections are most often the consequences of sexually transmitted diseases that reach the fallopian tubes. ★ Salpingitis is an inflammation of the fallopian tubes due to a genital infection. It may be acute (that is, the infection is recent) or chronic (the infection has occurred in the past and still persists) and cause tubal obstruction. Infections related to salpingitis are usually due to Chlamydia germs, mycoplasmas or gonococci. These are germs responsible for sexually transmitted diseases, but most often go unnoticed. To prevent these infections, it is recommended to protect oneself during sexual intercourse (especially in case of multiple or occasional partners) and a regular follow-up with your gynecologist or treatment specialist is necessary. Other infections: ★ Other infections can infect the fallopian tubes. In case of peritonitis (an infection of the peritoneum) for example, following complicated appendicitis, the tube may be infected. ★ Uterine infections can also clog the tubes. In the case of a history of abortion or miscarriage, tissue scarring after these events will develop and become tubal obstructions. This is also the case with one or a previous history of ectopic pregnancy. Endometriosis: ★ Endometriosis is a gynecological condition in which the endometrial tissue that normally covers the uterine wall is found in the uterine horns. The abnormal presence of this uterine lining in the tubes will block the progression of sperm to the egg and prevent fertilization. The surgical sequelae: ★ Adhesion is when the tubal walls stick together, preventing the movement of the egg and sperm. These adhesions are sometimes postoperative complications. They can be formed following an appendectomy or surgery of the ovaries or the uterus. These postoperative complications are rare today because they are easily controlled.
